Pay Range

$86,600.00-$119,100.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

The Plant Occupational Nurse provides full-time injury/illness assessment and first aid support for work-related cases on-site during regular business hours and after-hours on call. The position would also be responsible for regulatory compliance and program management, as well as other responsibilities of an Industrial Nurse.

Your Day to Day:

Injury Case Management

  • Provide and/or coordinate on-site first aid treatment, off-site treatment and daily case management for all work-related injuries
  • Manage injury recordkeeping, internal reporting and Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation case management process
  • Team with off-site Occupational Clinic for employee physicals and care
  • Manage on-site emergency medical response (EMR) team, including treatment guidance, monthly trainings, supplies, documentation and certifications

Preventive Health

  • Organize and/or administer on-site First Aid/CPR classes
  • Oversee flu shot clinic, blood drive, health fair, etc. as appropriate
  • Manage AED program including regular inspection, preventive maintenance and restock of supplies
  • Maintain schedule for Physical Therapy and Massage Therapy clinics/training
  • Provide support for general employee health concerns and work impact

Regulatory Compliance

  • Manage Hearing Conservation Program, including securing CAOHC OHC certification, annual audiograms, follow up exams with audiologist, STS case management and reporting, non-occupational exposure investigations, employee training, new hire baseline testing and EarFit attenuation testing
  • Manage Respiratory Protection Program including securing PFT technologist certification, employee medical clearance, silica exam requirements, annual fit testing, employee training and compliance tracking

Medical Office and Equipment Management

  • Maintain necessary calibrations for audiometric booth, spirometry, etc.
  • Maintain first aid and drug screening supplies, OTC medications, vaccines, etc. and restock as needed; manage vendor/supplier accounts (setup, purchase orders, etc.)
  • Administer vaccines, (Hep B, Flu, tetanus) and/or testing (flu, COVID) and manage employee consent
  • Ensure HIPAA/OSHA-compliant medical records management

Health and Safety Team

  • Engage as a team member through weekly touch base to support health and safety initiatives
  • Support new employee training to include hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and attenuation fit testing for hearing protection

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, unencumbered Ohio Nursing License, clinical experience (2 years of occupational health experience preferred); Valid Driver’s License
  • Demonstrated ability to perform employee assessment of vitals/blood pressure checks, pulmonary function testing, respirator fit testing and audiometric testing
  • Fundamental knowledge of OSHA regulations and working knowledge of workers compensation guidelines and case management
  • Demonstrated ability to support drug screens (urine, cheek swab, etc.), ADA collaboration and compliance, and employee leave/return to work requirements
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, compliance tracking, communications
  • Ability to work independently and with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Minimal travel required (0 - 10 days per year) for certifications, conferences, etc.
  • Work environment is typical of an office setting in a manufacturing facility; may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/gas/fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.
  • Some after-hours injury management (night/weekend injury support), ability to transport non-emergency cases and/or meet employees at treatment facility.
  • May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds
