Position Summary: The Plex Training Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering training programs specifically for the Plex Manufacturing Cloud system. This role ensures standardized and effective use of Plex across all functional areas, including production, inventory, quality, shipping/receiving, and maintenance. The specialist will work closely with operations to align system usage with real-world processes, driving data accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Plex-specific training materials, including:
  • Work Instructions (WIs)
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Checksheet guidance and job aids
  • Deliver hands-on Plex training for:
  • Shop floor operators (production scanning, labor reporting, scrap, downtime)
  • Inventory personnel (receiving, transfers, cycle counts, traceability)
  • Quality teams (inspections, checksheets, nonconformance)
  • Maintenance teams (asset tracking, preventive maintenance)
  • Supervisors and managers (reporting, dashboards, system oversight)
  • Lead onboarding training for new employees to ensure proper Plex usage from day one.
  • Support Plex implementations, rollouts, and process changes by:
  • Creating structured training plans
  • Conducting system walkthroughs and workshops
  • Supporting go-live activities
  • Ensure standardized use of Plex across departments to support:
  • Inventory accuracy
  • Production tracking integrity
  • Traceability requirements
  • Audit readiness
  • Identify gaps between Plex system capabilities and current business processes; recommend improvements.
  • Assist users with troubleshooting, issue resolution, and reinforcing correct system usage.
  • Maintain training records and ensure compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT and Plex administrators on system updates, enhancements, and configuration changes.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Plex Manufacturing Cloud (required)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive, aerospace, or defense preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Plex modules, including:
    • Production
    • Inventory Control
    • Quality Management
    • Shipping & Receiving
    • Maintenance
  • Proven experience creating and delivering training in a hands-on environment
  • Strong understanding of shop floor processes and how they translate into Plex transactions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to train both hourly and salaried employees
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience supporting Plex implementations or multi-site rollouts
  • Familiarity with compliance and audit environments (ISO, AS9100, DFARS, etc.)
  • Experience with data accuracy initiatives (inventory, labor reporting, traceability)
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
  • Experience working with checksheets, barcoding, and shop floor data collection

    • Due to the travel requirement to all locations for support, employment base location is flexible to be out of Plymouth, Auburn Hills or Lansing, Michigan
