General Summary

Eastern Michigan University's GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology (GACET) is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Engineer position to support/ lead research efforts in the areas of autonomy and human-autonomy interactions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Build the experimental platform for autonomous vehicles and shared control.
• Develop the simulation environment for human-in-the-loop experiments
• Collaborate with students and faculty in engineering, computer science, or closely related fields in a university setting to support/lead projects.
• Provide guidance to junior team members, including undergraduate and master's students.
• Disseminate research findings through posters, papers and presentations.
• Leads the effort to write proposals and solicit externally funded research.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Robotics, or a related field is required.
• Strong background in autonomous vehicles, shared control systems, or human-autonomy interaction is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to set up hardware and software platforms to enable human-in-the-loop experiments.
• Ability for designing experimental research, undertaking experiments, and analyzing results.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
