Job Summary
The Zhu lab in the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center is looking for a Post-doctoral Scholar to study adipose tissue and inter-organ communication in obesity and obesity-related cancer. This position offers a unique opportunity to study lipid metabolism and tissue crosstalk using state-of-the-art genetics, physiology and multi-omics approaches.
Responsibilities include:
· Conduct independent research with supervision and guidance, including publications in peer-reviewed journals.
· Design and perform in vivo experiments in various mouse models
· Perform mouse metabolic phenotyping and data analyses (e.g. glucose and lipid metabolism, glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, energy expenditure, and histology).
· Molecular biology techniques may involve, such as RNAi, CRSPR, and AAV.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
· Strong motivation for metabolic research.
· Some experience working with mice.
· Proficiency in English (communication, writhing, and presentation).
· Interest in learning new techniques.
