Evenings and weekends as needed based on ongoing research experiments.Job SummaryThe Zhu lab in the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center is looking for a talented Post-doctoral Scholar to study adipose tissue and inter-organ communication (adipose-liver-gut axis) in obesity and MASH. This position offers a unique opportunity to study lipid metabolism and tissue crosstalk using state-of-the-art genetics, physiology and multi-omics approaches.

Responsibilities include:
• Conduct independent research with supervision and guidance, including publications in peer-reviewed journals.• Design and execute in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro experiments using diverse cellular systems and mouse models.• Perform mouse metabolic phenotyping and data analyses (e.g. glucose and lipid metabolism, glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, energy expenditure, and histology)• Apply molecular biology techniques, including CRISPR gene editing and adeno-associated virus (AAV)–mediated gene delivery.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities• Strong motivation for metabolic research.• Some experience working with mice.• Proficiency in English (communication, writhing, and presentation).• Interest in learning new techniques.
