The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join the CAR Lab, a multidisciplinary research group focused on advancing innovation in retinal diseases through artificial intelligence, imaging, and translational research. The lab works at the intersection of clinical ophthalmology, and computational modeling.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in retinal imaging and AI

• Develop and validate algorithms for analysis of OCT, OCT-A, and fundus imaging

• Perform statistical and quantitative analysis of large-scale clinical datasets

• Contribute to study design, data interpretation, and manuscript preparation

• Publish findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at national/international conferences

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, engineers

• Assist in mentoring graduate students and research staff as needed

Expectations and Qualifications

• MD, or equivalent degree in ophthalmology, or a related field

• Strong background in image analysis

• Demonstrated ability to write and publish scientific manuscripts

• Familiarity with ophthalmic imaging (preferred but not required)

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative research environment
