Overall Lab Summary

The Department of Medicine, Vascular Medicine Institute, is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Associate. The main research interests in the lab of Dr. Haodi Wu are to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying the development, disease, and senescence of heart cells, and to develop potential therapeutic strategies to rectify pathogenesis and aging in the heart. We utilize human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSCs) platform and cutting-edge molecular, cellular, and physiological technologies to study the biology of heart cells in health and diseases, and to discover novel drugs and approaches for translational applications. Main Postdoc Duties

The research of the postdoc will focus on understanding how the functional regulation of key organelles and proteins affects the physiological function and the pathogenesis of cardiac disease.

The postdoc is expected to receive work assignment and instructions from Dr. Haodi Wu and will be responsible to learn the scientific progress in the relevant fields, improve English communication and writing skills, design and conduct experiments, collect and interpret data, organize results written manuscripts, apply for postdoc fellowships, and prepare oral or poster presentations for internal and external research conferences.

Minimum requirements – PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or relevant field. Strong experience in translational regulations, autophagy, metabolism, cellular imaging and analysis, and protein-protein interactions will be preferred.
