The Department of Medicine Division of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine Institute are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to work under the direction of Dr. Stephen Chan and Dr. Neil Kelly.
The lab is focused on the study of health exposures in cardiometabolic disease. The lab has a particular interest in translating findings from population genetics to cellular and preclinical disease models in order to understand the mechanistic links between health exposures and cardiovascular disease pathogenesis.
The main duties will be to work closely with PIs to lead the implementation of scientific strategy, perform cellular and animal experiments, perform statistical analysis and prepare data for presentation, present findings at local and national meetings and meet weekly with PIs to review data and discuss progress. The postdoc may also assist with lab training and supervision of students and trainees research tasks.
Minimum requirements – PhD in Biology or related field with experience in cell culture, rodent models, genome editing, lentivirus and plasmid synthesis, western blotting, PCR, scientific writing, data analysis, statistics.
