The incumbent will be working on developing models of End-Stage Liver Disease (ESLD) to understand mechanisms of regulation of Transcription Factors. They will design and execute animal and cell culture studies, maintain rat colonies, perform histological, biochemical, and immunological analyses on human and animal tissues, analyze and interpret data, and write manuscripts.
Dr. Soto's team will follow up on transcriptional analyses of ESLD livers that have revealed reduced expression of the pioneer transcription factors. Researchers will use animal and cell cultures and previously gathered data. This project uses only pre-existing lab resources.
Minimum Degree Required: PhD in Microbiology
