Job Summary

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Kentucky is welcoming applications for a postdoctoral scholar position in observational astronomy.

This is a 2-year position (anticipated Aug 1, 2026 – Jul 31, 2028) with the possibility of extension for a third year (contingent on performance and funding availability). The postdoctoral scholar will work in Dr. Jiayi Sun’s group and lead innovative research using new ALMA and JWST data from several large programs.

The scholar will also have the opportunity to join and play leadership roles in major international teams (including PHANGS and MAUVE) that study the multi-phase ISM and star formation across the local universe.
