Power Systems Service Manager
Bronx, NY

Pay:$120,000-$155,000/year(dependent on relevant experience)

Bonus: 20% bonus potential

Key Qualifications:

  • This position requires off hour on call availability, including weekends and holidays
  • Minimum 5 years management experience in directing labor, will consider equivalent combination of 2-year degree and work experience
  • Strong computer skills and comfortable with new technology in order to manage service communications and related business processes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Electric power generation experience with troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment (generator, ATS, switchgear) AC/DC, and diesel engine troubleshooting and repair preferred

Responsibilities

Successfully deliver and sell service of recognized superior value by providing necessary key resources (people, tooling, materials, equipment and time)

  • Effectively communicate with all stakeholders on work to be performed, changes required in scope of work, job status, etc.
  • Oversee technician performance on jobs to ensure effective, efficient completion in a profitable and safe manner (including troubleshooting assistance)
  • Assure service operations are completed successfully by providing resources (information, people, parts, tooling, etc.)
  • Ensure profitable service operations by meeting expectations for service dashboard

Support growth through sales support

  • Provide a high level of customer satisfaction (per customer surveys and feedback,) in alignment with company values
  • Collaborate with EPSSM on actions for growth opportunities in planning marketing, promoting sales of CSAs and product support
  • Develop close working relationship with Power Systems groups (PMs, New Sales, PSSRs, Rental,) to communicate schedules, costs and coordinate work
  • Provide adequate technician coverage to support sales volumes and opportunities

Staff & Develop people to achieve all key results to make our service function safe and strong

  • Build and maintain environment characterized by safe work practices, high productivity and high morale
  • Assist in selecting mechanics
  • Effectively manage the performance process (goal setting, coaching, appraisal, and rewards/consequences management)
  • Develop people through training, coaching, etc.

Successfully build and maintain a culture of safety through successful completion of all safety initiatives and enforcing safe work habits

  • Ensure timely communication of safety issues to direct supervisor with appropriate paperwork
  • Conduct weekly safety meeting and ensure monthly safety audits for work area are complete
  • Ensure all direct reports have completed pure safety assignments and safety orientation by due dates
  • Maintain the service vehicle fleet in a cost-effective, safe and clean manner

Contribute to positive customer experiences by maintaining the professionalism, appearance and accessibility of our facilities

  • Continually assess the appearance-including the cleanliness, professionalism, maintenance and compliance with the company policies of your area of responsibility
  • Take Corrective action on any items noted during these on-going assessments to ensure compliance with the company appearance standards
  • Implement any approved company recommendations for creating a professional appearance and ensuring the accessibility of our facilities

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Hand coordination for typing, writing, and computer use
  • Occasional forward bending and reaching
  • Occasional walking and climbing stairs
  • Carrying (up to 20lbs.)
