Job Description
Veolia Water Technologies, Inc. (VWT) is currently seeking a Principal Engineer located in our Cary, NC office.
- Have thorough understanding of physico chemical processes in drinking water and wastewater treatment
- Technical Lead for multiple product lines providing assistance/guidance to other Engineers
- Provides review for design and technical risk evaluation for multiple product lines
- Go to for Process and Field Service challenges/questions
- Capable to provide group training on physico chemical processes
- Generate Pilot protocols and review pilot and plant data for specific products
- Assess all elements of process performance testing and obligations, generate technical risk assessments for complex project tenders; assist Sales Dept in quantifying how technical risk could impact commercial risk. Demonstrate a high level understanding of how the upstream and downstream unit operations and treatment systems could impact process performance.
- Work independently to generate detailed proposals, design memos, process descriptions, comprehensive cost benefit assessments, accurately estimate chemical and energy consumption to produce detailed O&M cost estimates used for 20-year NPV evaluations.
- Act as lead engineer on project-specific calls with Owner, Engineer, Contractor; demonstrate ability to describe process details with high level of understanding including expertise on key process equipment, ancillary equipment, control functionality, instrumentation, sequence of operations, commissioning task sequence and details, equipment startup and checkout history, how fabricated components are integrated into the system.
- Act as lead design engineer on calls with Owner and Engineer for proposal and tender phase discussions. Must be intimately familiar with the performance history of similar Veolia technology/processes in the U.S. and internationally.
- Capable of complex process troubleshooting (including ability to assess and confirm correct process control logic); demonstrate an advanced ability to assess process performance based on field and lab data, should demonstrate ability to judge reliability of data; pinpoint areas where optimization is required (including upstream unit operations); identify data that is lacking; make clear corrective action recommendations to operations staff.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering discipline;
- 12+ years experience
