Anticipated Pay Range: $77K-95K per year *Pay rates within this range are determined based on various factors including experience, education, certifications, etc.

JOB SUMMARY

We excel in additive manufacturing technologies, vacuum melted alloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next generation of more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.

Howmet Engines is seeking a Process Engineer, for our Superalloy Facility located at Dover, NJ. The Process Engineer supports the business through process control and improvement initiatives, assumes responsibility for the integrity of assigned process, supports cliental, creates process specific activity instructions as well as implements strategies to improve effectiveness.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & SPECIFICATIONS

The Process Engineer offers the opportunity to become a vital member of a high profile, high energy, Superalloy production unit created within a well-established, respected company with decades of industry leading manufacturing performance. As a Process Engineer at Howmet Dover Alloy some of the job responsibilities may include but are not limited to;

  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations as well as manage existing or new EHS program(s) across the business as assigned.
  • Expected to assist in the implementation of Arconic’s’ value and policy statement, accompanying its principles.
  • Effectively use writing and verbal skills to communicate processing concepts to customers, operating personnel, other company departments, technical staff and upper level management;
  • Monitor and react to trends in the Superalloy chemistries manufactured at AHDA with the goal of controlling ranges to provide a consistent product that meets the expectations of our internal and external customers.
  • Develop and implement processing techniques for a broad range of Superalloys.
  • Trains Operators and other employees in problem solving methodology, 5S, and other improvement tools.
  • Participate in activities to drive improvements for critical performance metrics such as process yields, scrap loss, equipment utilization, operating costs, etc.
  • Review, disposition and provide instructions for non-conforming materials in order to reclaim.
  • Perform root cause and corrective action investigations to identify the origin of a process failure and institute preventative measures to eliminate a reoccurrence.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires US person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder).
  • Verification of Employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Ceramics, Metallurgical, Materials, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • The Process Engineering position is a first shift position and the role will require a minor amount of travel (10% - 15%) depending on active projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION.

  • Possess strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills for supporting all aspects of the engineering infrastructure
  • Ability to work and interact effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team atmosphere.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing & ABS as well as statistical analysis methods is ideal.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Experience in investment casting and/or the manufacture of Ni- and Co- based Superalloys.
  • Experience in Gas Turbine Industry is a plus.
