Compensation
The base hourly rate for this position is $36.82.Summary:
The purpose of the Process Technician’s role is to monitor, maintain, and optimize Johns Manville (JM) Spartanburg Spunbond process lines, equipment, and operating settings. In addition to process oversight, this role includes performing and supporting light maintenance activities to prevent equipment downtime and support safe, reliable operations. The Process Technician assists in coordinating training, enforcing safety guidelines, and interfacing with the production and maintenance teams in support of first pass yield (FPY), operational efficiency (OE), and equipment reliability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following and other duties as assigned.
Ensure all observed tasks are being performed in a safe and controlled manner and assist safety team in ergonomic review and JSA based task improvements.
Audit production conformity to SOC (Standard Operating Conditions) and work with team to return deviation to standard.
Work with production and maintenance to identify issues, general cleaning and other activities that may be required that are impacting Safety, Quality, FPY or OE.
Support production supervisors in training and providing direction to production team.
Communicate with Production Team Leaders to ensure team understands established operating systems in safety, quality, and process controls.
Support production in product changeover and other high risk quality conditions.
Utilize data collection to identify deviations quickly and implement corrective measures.
Support production to make the production area a visual workplace.
Support Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).
Review weekly metrics to discover gaps in production, high waste generation, or other deviations from FPY or OE production goals.
Identify potential equipment failure risks and proactively communicate issues to maintenance and production leadership
Maintain tools, spare parts, and work areas associated with process equipment in a clean and organized state.
Partner with process engineering for long-term projects and advanced data analysis.
Perform and complete other work as assigned.
Support all plant and JM goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Must have 2+ years production Team Lead experience.
Maintenance experience preferred
Basic computer skills. Interface with computers including controls systems, MES, and SAP.
Forklift license.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or maintenance experience preferred, including familiarity with tools, equipment components, and safe maintenance practices. Prior operator-level maintenance experience preferred.
Ability to read a variety of gauges, meters, etc.
Ability to analyze computer-generated material.
Ability to direct the activities of others, time management skills, and the ability to coordinate activities is essential.
Working knowledge of all Spunbond processes and the ability to troubleshoot is essential.
Strong problem solving and collaboration skills.
Computer skills and experience with Lean manufacturing principles are extremely beneficial.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
