Compensation
The base hourly rate for this position is $20.00.The Production Operator 1 will have the responsibilities of operating the winder, palletizer, and unitizer on the ModBit line as well as other assigned duties. The Macon, GA facility manufactures roofing materials for commercial use. We have 2 positions for 3rd Shift Only- 10:45 pm - 7 am.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean legal background with no felony or violent crime convictions
- Dependable transportation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possess strong comprehension skills
- Able to pass essential job function test and drug screen
- Able to work flexible schedule to include overtime
- Able to work with others
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to work in non-temperature controlled environment
Preferred:
- Strong employment background
- Production experience
- Experience with operation of lift trucks
- Demonstrate some mechanical aptitude
- SAP experience/HMI
- Certifications
Essential Functions:
Operation of plant equipment to include electrical controls, the winder, palletizer and unitizer. Operation of lift truck. Maneuver rolls of commercial roofing materials. Perform preventive maintenance as required. Occasional use of hand tools. Multi-tasking. Comply with all plant handbook policies and regulations. Complete monthly safety requirements. Maintain a safe work environment while obeying all safety rules and regulations. General housekeeping/keeping your work area clean and clear of hazards. Work to maintain customer satisfaction to include strict compliance with quality standards. Comply with all environmental policies/commitments. Other job functions as assigned.
This is a position in an industrial, manufacturing environment, requiring:
- The ability to stand for long periods of time.
- The ability to manually lift at least 50 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics, sometimes while in awkward positions.
- The ability to execute both fine and gross motor hand movements.
- The ability to work safely in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment.
- The ability to safely and effectively work in an often-dusty work environment that experiences a broad range of temperatures (very hot to very cold).
- The ability to withstand the rigors of working a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
