Job Summary
The UK Center of Excellence in Rural Health, serving as the designated State Office of Rural Health, is adding a Program Specialist to the Kentucky Office of Rural Health (KORH) team to provide administrative, technical, and programmatic support to advance health care services in rural communities.
The KORH team is looking to add expertise in any of the following emerging areas of rural health, which includes but is not limited to behavioral health, substance abuse, workforce, telehealth, information technology, quality improvement, and innovative care delivery models. This position will coordinate grants, budgets, and reporting; serve as SHIP Coordinator for the federal HRSA Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program; and provide technical assistance to rural hospitals, clinics, and community partners in these and other evolving areas.
The Program Specialist will serve as a key point of contact for KORH programs, providing hands-on support in planning, coordination, and evaluation of initiatives that impact rural hospitals, clinics, and community health organizations. This role includes facilitating workshops, conferences, site visits, and networking opportunities, conducting research and technical writing to inform program development, and disseminating relevant information to stakeholders. By supporting data tracking, reporting, and collaboration across multiple rural health partners, the Program Specialist helps ensure that KORH programs meet funder requirements, advance rural health priorities, and strengthen access to quality care in Kentucky’s rural communities.

Preferred Education/Experience
Master’s degree and 1 year of related experience administrative support and/or program coordination. Valid driver’s license preferred.
