Responsibilities

What we expect… (Essential Functions)

  • Responsible for project setup, budget management, risk management and financial reporting.
  • Responsible for supporting cost estimates for projects in the industrial arena.
  • Responsible for mentoring and/or training other project team members.
  • Responsible for working within boundaries of various contracting methods such as lump sum, GMP, cost plus construction management and fee-based construction. Must understand legal aspects and implications of contractual language.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and third party auditors.
  • Responsible for preparing various reports to successfully manage the project(s), such as monthly financial reports, progress analysis/schedules, billings, and status reports. Organize and maintain job files to ensure continuity of workflow. Submit verbal and written reports on project status to management.
  • May be responsible for estimating efforts relative to the project(s) and proposal preparation efforts. Responsible for the communication, implementation and enforcement of Gray’s safety and quality programs on site.
  • Responsible for managing project controls teammates and ensuring all protocols and procedures are followed according to Gray’s standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in risk analysis and log findings in Procore. Track and log potential risks while coordinating mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with scheduling team, site team, and project management team to assess and mitigate potential risk.
  • Execution responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
    • The project cost work breakdown structure and job cost set up
    • Develop project invoice schedule of values
    • Coordinate subcontractor prequalification enrollment
    • Manage the project cost tracking log and ensure alignment with financial management tools.
    • Prepare project change request and customer change orders and review with project management team
    • Prepare commitment change orders and review with project management team
    • Prepare PO requisition
    • Trend project cost and report deviations from plan
    • Prepare monthly general conditions projections and tracking log based on actuals and manpower curve
    • Complete project cost segregation for project close out
    • Manage project tax incentives and reporting where applicable
    • Prepare projects for close-out including review of commitments, cost, and contract values
    • Provide support for job cost audits and project-specific cost reporting requirements
    • Prepare weekly and monthly project financial reports
    • Develop, update and monitor job progress, including scheduling, estimating and budgeting to ensure that construction of project parallels with schedule.
    • Perform quantity take off(s), cost estimates and bid solicitation.
    • Supports project manager in reviewing and approving invoices and change orders.
    • Assist in the preparation of various reports to assist in the successful management of the project(s), such as: monthly financial reports, progress analysis/schedules, billings and status reports.
    • Assist in the organization and maintenance of job files to ensure continuity of work flow. Submit verbal and written reports on project status to supervisor.
    • Communicate effectively with direct consultants and subcontractors on the project(s).

    While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear. They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

    Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations. Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Will supervise multiple project support team members.



Qualifications

Who we want… (Requirements)

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in accounting, mathematics, construction management, finance or related degree.

The new team member is required to have five to seven years of experience in construction management, accounting or project controls. CMIC, Textura, or similar constriction financial system experience is a plus. Experience leading Project Controls efforts for projects relevant to large industrial construction is preferred. Overtime will be required. Travel will be required.
