The cost team delivers solutions to clients in the areas of conceptual estimating, budget development, cost planning, feasibility studies, value management, economic forecasting, milestone reports, pre- and post-contract auditing, change order review and reconciliation, BIM 5D cost modeling, LEED cost analysis, life cycle costing, and more. We are currently hiring for a Project Controls Specialist in Miami, FL. In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow your project controls and cost knowledge within all phases of a project, while gaining experience on a ground residential project.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate and provide support to project managers, and the client’s facilities staff to establish and maintain data coding structures and project control tools.
Interact with District accounting and purchasing staff, coordinate District financial information with Procore system for all financial transactions to ensure reconciliation of program controls data for monthly reporting purposes.
Gather and track quality data used for budgets, contracts, change orders, trends, and actual costs.
Maintain management reporting data to produce program controls reports.
Ensure regular and timely reporting of the projects’ financial progress to advise of any conditions that would affect timelines or costs.
Review documents filed to ensure accurate and thorough document control.
Review, evaluate, and recommend changes to project documents as required by project needs.
Routinely review pay applications, change orders and contracts for accuracy and alignment with budget and board approval.
Assist the team with various parts of the project such as constructability review, value engineering, pay app reviews, schedule development, FF&E program development and execution.
Assist in formulating the design, bid, and project phase of scheduling.
Assist in the Addenda and Bid process.
Under supervision, conduct pre-bid and job start meetings.
Monitor contract compliance and report concerns to project team onsite.
Oversee approvals from applicable government agencies are received and documented.
Other duties as assigned.
Attendance at work during normal business hours.
Assist team on site to track changes in drawings and compliance to mitigate future claims.
Provide update/status reporting for work in progress.
Assist in the Addenda and Bid process.
Administer Project sub-contracts.
Maintain accurate records.
Monitor contract compliance and report concerns on as needed basis.
Oversee approvals from applicable government agencies are received and documented.
Monitor progress on site with compliance to changes in the contract documents to avoid claims.
Review change orders for completeness and conformance to company and client standards.
Attendance at work during normal business hours.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Experience with various project control tools and software.
Experience gathering and tracking quality data relating to budgets, contracts, change orders, trends and actual cost.
Experience with the QA/QC process.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in project management, Engineering.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ project controls experience is required.
Experience: Prior experience working on luxury residential/hospitality projects is preferred.

The salary range for this full-time role is $77,000.00-$102,666.68 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package.
