Position Summary:
This is a REMOTE position – candidates must be located in Norfolk, VA area for occasional onsite visits.
National Capitol Contracting (NCC) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Coordinator to support program operations, administrative processes, and cross-functional coordination across a dynamic national enterprise environment. This role serves as a central point of contact for documentation, logistics, communications, and governance activities, ensuring teams have the resources, access, and information needed to operate efficiently. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting, manages multiple priorities effectively, and demonstrates strong attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Documentation, support, and processing of CAC, VAR, and shipyard specific clearance / access protocols for program employees
- Provide records management and tracking for badging and site access
- Support and process travel and training requests, approvals, and verifications in coordination with NCC's PMO
- Coordinate vendor training and maintain vendor relationships
- Serve as a communications and coordination hub for program tasks, logistics, and governance using collaboration tools such as MS Teams and SharePoint
- Organize, track, and distribute work aids, policy guides, and data system or analytic briefs to ensure consistency and transparency across a national enterprise
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (not required to start)
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Project Management, Communications, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- 2+ years of experience in project coordination, program support, operations, or administrative management
- Experience managing documentation, records, and access control processes
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting government, defense, shipyard, or highly regulated environments
- Familiarity with CAC, VAR, site badging, or security/access procedures
- Knowledge of travel and training approval workflows within a PMO environment
- Experience working with vendors and managing external partnerships
- Exposure to project management methodologies or certifications such as CAPM or PMP
- Experience creating reports, dashboards, or process documentation
Special Position Requirements:
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7AM – 2:30PM, with flexibility to meet customer’s needs
Travel: Must be willing and able to travel onsite when needed.
