Job Summary
The Senior Research PR Officer 1 will report jointly to the Director of Research Communications and the Director of Medical Campus Public Relations & Strategic Communications. This position is responsible for promoting research at the University of Kentucky to internal and external audiences by creating content for news releases, videos and podcasts. Also, pitching research-related stories and research experts to local, regional and national media reporters and outlets. This position also serves on a team of primary editors for daily and weekly news distribution sites produced by UKPR and provides communications strategy for content and publications.
Strong writing skills, knowledge of AP Style, and copy-editing skills required. Candidates must also possess strong organizational skills to handle assignments that involve many different areas across the university with varying deadlines.
