Required License/Registration/Certification

Licensure through the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care and National Board of Respiratory Care Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at time of hire.

Physical Requirements

The ability to lift, push, pull objects over 50 lbs. ; stand and/or walk for extended periods with objects up to 25lbs.; substantial amount of kneeling and reaching overhead; working in confined spaces; exposure to loud noises and bloodborne/airborne pathogens.

Job Summary

The Pulmonary Function Technologist will perform diagnostic procedures related to lung function including selecting and setting up equipment, instructing patients, and calculating and collecting data. They will also be responsible for the operations, cleaning, storing and disinfection of equipment; performing quality control; and providing superior customer service through direct contact and answering the phone.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will have patient care experience pertaining to pulmonary function; the ability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects while accurately completing routine functions in a fast paced, high intensity, professional work environment; proficient in Microsoft Office systems; excellent attention to detail; exceptional planning and organizational skill; effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to solve routine problems and manage resources; demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service, time management, and judgment; and respect for diversity.

Preferred Education/Experience

Associates degree in Respiratory Care field and experience working with pulmonary function preferred. Hospital experience also preferred.
