Job Summary

The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking an accomplished and motivated faculty member to join the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct innovative, rigorous, and grant-funded research that advances the understanding and treatment of lung disease.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct independent and collaborative research supported by extramural funding.
  • Engage in scholarly activities including peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations.
  • Support and lead research initiatives within the Kentucky Research Alliance for Lung Disease (KRAL-D).
  • Contribute to the teaching and research training of UK undergraduates, medical students, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars through mentorship programs, courses, workshops, and supervised research.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary research and training initiatives across the University of Kentucky’s 16 colleges, including Arts and Sciences, Public Health, Pharmacy, Nursing, Communication and Information, and Health Sciences.
  • Support the Division’s clinical research mission through roles such as protocol development, patient recruitment for clinical trials, and participation in regulatory oversight for clinical research.
