Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the Combustion Engineer, the technician provides support to Heat Treat operations and pyrometry compliance. Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer and Company quality system specifications and requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities.   • Ensure Heat Treat complies with AMS 2750 and applicable customer Heat Treat specifications

  • Assist in Nadcap and customer heat treat audits

  • Perform furnace Temperature Uniformity Survey (TUS) and System Accuracy Test (SAT)

  • Ensure all furnace, quench and other critical PMs are completed and documented.

  • Ensure all MRO are recorded and submitted to quality for completeness and reviews.

  • Assist in training development of furnace technicians.

  • Ensure optical pyrometer performance

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Experience with AMS 2759 Pyrometry.

  • Must be able to read engineering drawings and specifications. Understanding of Metals and basic heat treat principles, gas fired furnace operations and maintenance, a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge of statistical techniques, SPC

Advanced proficiency in C3
