The base hourly rate for this position is $35.51.

Summary Works under the supervision of the Quality Manager or designee. The Sr. Lead is responsible for directing the day to day activities of the QC team in accordance with priorities defined by the

Quality Manager or designee. Perform various routine and non-routine duties in support of quality initiatives throughout the plant. Direct and perform, as needed, special testing in support of improvement efforts

throughout the plant. Responsible for ensuring the quality management system is maintained and continuously improved under the direction of the Quality Manager or designee.

This position requires the ability to make sound decisions and work independently from written and/or verbal instructions to perform the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensure all company policies and procedures established for safety, quality, and specific to job responsibilities are followed.

Set up, operate, and maintain all equipment in the lab necessary to perform required tests as needed.

Be knowledgeable of standard quality control tests performed on all products and chemicals. Transfer this knowledge to QC team as needed.

Perform QC tests and audits on processes, fiber, mat, sizings, binders, supplied products, finished products and other materials as needed.

Maintain familiarity with industry standards to ensure best practices are applied to testing and analysis.

Responsible for developing and maintaining documentation needed to perform and document QC testing.

Oversee administration of QMS documentation system in accordance with division, local, and ISO 9001 requirements.

Participate in measurement system analysis (MSA) efforts for all measurement systems used to validate product or process characteristics.

Ensure proper monitoring and maintenance of all chemicals, glassware, supplies, materials and lab equipment needed to perform assigned testing.

Responsible for ensuring lab technicians, and others, are properly trained on new or existing test methods, equipment use, etc. as needed.

Responsible for ensuring all department and plant quality records and data are properly maintained.

Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement initiatives and identifying improvement opportunities.

Oversee administration of calibration program in accordance with internal, ISO 9001, and industry standards.

Responsible for ensuring lab and equipment is maintained, clean and organized at all times.

Responsible for ensuring SAP QC functions are completed as required i.e. inspection plan development, material approvals etc.

Supplier engagement: issuing SCAR's for defective product follow up activities, site visits, and monthly performance reporting.

Serve as lead internal auditor responsible for administering internal auditing program.

Interface with various other departments, both internal and external, in support of various tasks as needed.

Utilize various computer programs to perform the following duties: data entry, equipment operation, reports, writing procedures, writing work instructions etc.

Support production with problem resolution.

Education and/or Experience

Highschool or GED minimum- Applicable certificate from college or technical school preferred

Experience in the quality lab environment is preferred

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
