Responsibilities

Our Quality Technician will prepare Quality Assurance shipping documents for submittal and shipment to customers, analyze and present data to managers and engineers for use in quality management and product improvement, and aid in root cause analysis for customer issues.

Essential Functions:

  • Use various software tools to submit product deviations to customers for approval (this will require working with other departments, such as engineering and manufacturing).

  • Compile necessary information to create the shipment packages for various product lines.

  • Assist the Quality Engineer in root cause analysis for any customer issues or escapes.

  • Complete product reviews for any major customer issues before product shipments.

  • Conduct internal auditing in various departments and processes to verify the correct procedures are being followed.

  • Complete monthly routing card organization for long-term record retention.

  • Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime (specifically during end-of-month shipments).

  • Follow Howmet's Safety Regulations and Work Rules Handbook along with all department specific safety requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Five years of related experience and/or training in an engineering or manufacturing environment. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed operating instructions, safety rules, procedural manuals, and write routine reports.

  • Standard mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using all units of measure, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Must be able to function using Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel programs.

  • Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to create complex Excel spreadsheets, including the use of functions and formulas.

  • Ability be able to use links to other workbooks, pivot tables, filters, and goal seeking scenarios, outline, and subtotal features to create custom workbooks.

  • Experience in root cause analysis methods, such as 5 Whys and Fishbone Diagrams.
