The Department

Quantitative Research and Investing (QRI) is an investments and research division within Asset Management at Fidelity. We are responsible for the management and development of quantitative and hybrid quant/fundamental investment strategies and solutions while providing high quality quantitative, data-driven support to Fidelity’s investment professionals, ensuring they have access to the most relevant data and advanced quantitative analysis.

Quantitative Sustainable Investing Internship

The Quantitative Sustainable Investing team works with analysts and portfolio managers across QRI, as well as stakeholders across Asset Management to conduct research and development on quantitative factors, models, and ratings and deliver portfolio construction and risk analytics to support Fidelity’s funds and research efforts.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a master’s degree program, with expected graduation no earlier than December 2026
  • Proficient in one or more of the following: Python (preferred), R, or SQL
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in quantitative analysis or research
  • Strong academic background in financial markets
  • Proven ability to communicate insights effectively through both written and verbal presentations
  • Skilled in critical thinking, collaboration, and clear articulation of complex ideas

Responsibilities include

  • Partnering with other quant researchers to evaluate complex data
  • Developing new models to facilitate the research and portfolio construction process
  • Collaborating with team members and portfolio managers on the design of sustainable investment strategies
  • Developing new analytical tools to incorporate sustainability considerations into the portfolio management process
