Position Summary

The Radiology Technologist Supervisor leads, oversees, schedules, and coordinates the day-to-day activities of an assigned team of Radiology Techs, ensuring adherence to the practice regulations, stated medical protocols and procedures, and following OSHA/WISHA/other compliance and regulatory guidelines. In addition, the Radiology Technologist Supervisor is responsible for the imaging procedures according to Care Center or Ambulatory Surgery Center needs. The Radiology Technologist Supervisor assists with the provision of patient care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Leadership Team. The Radiation Technologist Supervisor performs duties according to scope of practice designated by the position description, key duties, and responsibilities and under the direction of the designated Clinical Leadership.

Location: Proliance Puget Sound Orthopaedics - Tacoma, Lakewood & Gig Harbor

**Must be willing and able to float to all 3 clinic sites

Experience: Radiologic Technologist OR MRI Technologist

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the Radiology Technologist Supervisor is include, but are not limited to:

  • Works alongside Radiology Technologists with mastered knowledge of their daily workflow.
  • In collaboration with other medical providers supervise daily Imaging activities; schedule Radiology Tech associates to ensure full coverage of patient care needs, effective services, and time efficiency.
  • Fulfill environmental responsibilities and provide oversight as assigned which may include setting up instruments for imaging procedures, cleaning rooms and instruments and equipment as well as following OSHA/WISHA Guidelines for medical practice.
  • On-board and train new Radiology Technologists associates on their duties including philosophy of care, patient flow and imaging competencies.
  • Provide encouragement and recognition of excellence in performance; monitor team performance, identify issues, work through resolutions, and provide both informal and formal feedback.
  • Collaborate with the management team to manage performance of the Radiology Technologist team/associates including annual review, goal setting, corrective action, PIP, and termination.
  • Ensure daily and weekly duties are completed as assigned, including responding to patient messages and imaging treatment progresses.
  • Review and approve timesheets and time off requests in the time management system, while maintaining high level of service and coverage in department.
  • Ensure that all teammates working with sensitive and confidential materials are exercising the utmost discretion.
  • Oversee quality assurance activities and compliance to operational standards.
  • Research and resolve scheduling discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Provide trends and action plan for improvement to management team.
  • Participate in program development and implementation of operating policy and procedures.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies and supervises inventory of supplies including periodically reviewing exam rooms to ensure they are stocked appropriately
  • Serve as a resource on behalf of management and other leaders by handling questions and interpersonal conflict resolution in a positive and objective manner
  • Report to facility manager at structured, designated times as well as on an as needed basis to review complications, questions and/or concerns which may have arisen
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of all records
  • Fulfill other organizational responsibilities as assigned

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or its Equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration
  • Current WA State Radiologic Technologist (WSRT) certification
  • Minimum 3 years’ clinical radiology experience
  • Successful completion of BCLS Course within 90 days of employment required or documentation of current BCLS certification
  • Progressive leadership experience preferred
