Howmet Dover Alloy is a world-class supplier of vacuum and air-melted nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys to aerospace, gas turbine, medical and other high-technology industrial markets.

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Receiving Team Member to join our Howmet Alloy plant located in Dover, New Jersey. The work hours for this Day Shift position are Monday-Friday 6:00AM - 2:30PM. New Hire Starting Hourly Rate: $24.79; After 12 Months: $27.35

POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for coordinating outside property and materials maintenance activities and assuring waste and non waste materials are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals.
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report all job related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
  • Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EHS training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains the housekeeping and cleanliness of the outside of the facility. Attendant shall monitor the yard on a daily basis and ensure that all materials/equipment are stored properly, scrapped, or prepared for shipping.
  • Operation of yard vehicle (fork truck) as required to support removal of trash, dust, scrap and related process wastes from this facility. This shall include gathering and placing all wastes in proper containers as well as coordinating the shipment of same by marking, palletizing, and storing, etc. in preparation for shipment. Will also need to operate a fork truck to load and unload trucks and to move virgin raw materials, revert, and indirect materials around.
  • Weigh incoming materials. Review of documentation and inspection of the condition of incoming material.
  • Working/communicating with Quality, Purchasing, and Suppliers to ensure proper receipt of paperwork. Will also need to communicate & document any damage or issues with shipments.
  • Training in Optimat and Oracle systems.
  • Work closely with Charge Prep when dealing with revert and Virgin with elemental raw materials
  • Work closely with Production Planning in daily shipping functions to make sure finished goods are weighed up and verified on time.
  • Training required in Optimat and Oracle systems.
  • Updating and maintenance of consignment reports in Excel.
  • Accept materials properly labeled in accordance with OSHA and NJ Worker Right to Know Laws.
  • Assists and supports other departments as needed, such as participation in annual physical inventory, movement of heavy equipment or materials, and fork truck “skills” evaluation training when necessary.
  • Operating the forklift and other duties of the receiving team member

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’)
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position, Candidates residing within a 50 miles radius of Dover NJ will only be considered.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum one year experience in forklift operations, safety environmental related functions.
  • English language literate.
  • Basic Excel knowledge.
  • Must be able to read and understand digital scales and other simple weighing and measuring gages and devices.
  • Must learn and become familiar with shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations.
  • Knowledge of proper material handling procedures.
  • Ability to interact directly with department supervisors.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
