
Regional Sales Director - Mid-Western Region (Must have Utility Software Sales experience)
Overview of Role/Job Purpose:
Responsible for all new business development and revenue growth in assigned geographic territories from pipeline development to deal closure.
The Regional Sales Director is responsible for the creation of cloud-based solution opportunities that resonate with client executives within the Energy and Utilities industries.
Work internally with VertexOne stakeholders to craft the proper sales approach to identify and qualify engagement opportunities across multiple areas including CIS, Customer Engagement, application maintenance and hosting, business analytics, and consulting services.
Essential Job Duties:
- Position VertexOne as a premier provider of SaaS solutions and services for the Utility Industry
- Develop territory plans and strategies to identify key utilities to become VertexOne clients within the assigned geographic territory and Tier 1 & 2 markets serving 35k-2M+ accounts
- Develop working relationships with evaluation consultants, partners, and influencers
- Develop account plans for key clients to identify areas of opportunity and required VertexOne resources
- Establish relationships with key client executives to create excitement that results in greater awareness, credibility, and additional business opportunities
- Work with internal resources in pursuit of business opportunities
- Sell the entire portfolio of VertexOne Business Services solutions
- Become a trusted advisor with key clients by displaying deep subject matter knowledge of utility’s operational systems
- Attend trade shows, associations, conferences and serve on boards/committee’s as appropriate
- When required, and qualified, respond to RFIs and RFPs
- Lead the engagement team in establishing and presenting competitive and winning proposals
- Update and track all sales activities in VertexOne’s CRM system
Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years sales experience and familiarity with account management in the Technology, Energy, and Utilities industry
- Experience in consulting and selling complex solutions and services
- Experience in selling SaaS solutions
- Experience in leading diverse teams through a positive, collaborative approach in developing and selling client solutions
- Track record of overachievement of quota and building client relationships
- Utility and/or governmental experience is strongly preferred
- Experience and desire to grow and drive new business in underserved territories
- Maintain high client retention rate through strong senior executive relationship skills and leadership
- Energetic and passionate to achieve goals and client loyalty
- Strong business orientation, judgment, and acumen
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with fellow associates to deliver the best solution to the client

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related area required
Location:
Remote, US-based (must live in the Mid-West Region)
Ability to travel 50% of the time
Salary range
- $135,000 - $150,000
