Job Description

The Perioperative Nurse plays a vital role in our Surgery Center CMCH 109 department, offering comprehensive care to patients undergoing surgical/endoscopic procedures. You will be part of a dedicated team, supporting physicians and ensuring a smooth surgical experience. This role requires a caring and compassionate approach, with a focus on patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional patient care and family support during all surgical phases.
  • Assist physicians with surgical procedures, ensuring a well-equipped and organized operating room.
  • Maintain a safe and sterile environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring clear understanding of procedures and post-operative care.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and provide timely updates to the surgical team.
  • Administer medications and perform nursing procedures as per the surgical plan.
  • Document patient care accurately, ensuring compliance with medical records standards.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, contributing to a culture of excellence.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive work environment, fostering teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New Jersey.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided for new hires.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interactions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic surgical environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and maintain a calm demeanor.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with patient care.
  • Basic computer literacy for documentation and record-keeping.
  • Willingness to continue professional development and stay updated with nursing practices.
