Job Description

The Registered Nurse Preop/PACU position is an integral part of the Center for Orthopedic Surgery team at AtlantiCare Surgery Center, LLC. You will play a crucial role in ensuring patients receive exceptional care and support throughout their surgical journey. Your responsibilities will cover the three phases of surgery, from pre-op preparation to post-anesthesia care, collaborating with a skilled healthcare team to provide a seamless and positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional patient care and family support during all surgical phases.
  • Assist physicians with equipment, supplies, and support in Pre-Op and PACU areas.
  • Adhere to organizational goals by delivering quality customer service and participating in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean environment.
  • Assist with patient education and discharge planning as needed.
  • Uphold the values and mission of AtlantiCare Surgery Center, LLC.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's in nursing preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey is required.
  • BLS certification is mandatory upon hire or transfer.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications are required, as designated by specialty.
  • Prior experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided for new hires.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and walk short distances quickly.
