Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse Professional Practice & Development Specialist to join our team at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Inc. This position is integral to our Talent Management 105 department, where you will play a key role in supporting nursing professional development and growth. Your expertise in education theory, Caring Science, and leadership will be instrumental in driving change and innovation within our organization. You will serve as a transformational leader, promoting professional practice and serving as an expert resource. With a focus on CTICU & Heart and Vascular units, you will identify educational needs and develop appropriate programs, ensuring exemplary professional practice. Your role will also involve competency assessment, teaching the care process, and developing standards of performance. Additionally, you will foster a culture of lifelong learning, facilitate technology integration, and actively participate in quality improvement activities. As a leader in nursing research, you will promote and support organizational research initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire nursing professional development, focusing on CTICU & Heart and Vascular units.
  • Identify educational needs and develop appropriate programs to enhance professional practice.
  • Conduct competency assessment programs and ensure compliance with standards of practice and care.
  • Foster a culture of lifelong learning and facilitate the integration of technology to support clinical practice.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement activities and assist clinical staff in achieving exemplary patient outcomes.
  • Promote and support nursing research activities, contributing to the generation of new knowledge.
  • Advocate for Nursing Professional Development programs that align with organizational needs.
  • Engage in ethical decision-making and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Facilitate group processes and promote problem-solving within the nursing practice environment.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to develop and evaluate unit-level orientation programs.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is required, with a Master's degree in nursing or active enrollment in an accredited doctoral program with equivalent credit hours.
  • BLS certification is mandatory, with additional certifications as required by the unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS).
  • 5-7 years of clinical experience, with expert knowledge of adult teaching principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided for incumbents.
  • Demonstrated technical competencies as outlined in the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
  • Ability to function effectively as both a teacher and facilitator, creating a conducive learning environment.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating teaching strategies for specific patient populations.
  • Knowledge of NJSNA provider unit policies and procedures for education program planning and design.
