Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to regularly lift, move, and transport packages, tables, chairs, kiosks, and other materials, up to 50 pounds, as part of loading dock operations and event setup/breakdown. The role involves frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders as needed to maintain facilities and dock areas. The position also requires manual dexterity to handle inventory tagging and data entry tasks.
Shift
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (40 hours/week) Flexibility to work beyond standard hours is occasionally required to support events and ensure facility readiness.
Job Summary
This position provides operational support across HKRB, the Quadrangle, and MIKing. The position will provide support for the daily operation sof the HKRB loading dock, including receiving and shipping packages, coordinating deliveries, maintaining a safe and organized dock environment, and communicating with building occupants regarding dock activities. The role also supports Research Administration offices by submitting and following up on UK PPD work orders and custodial requests to address maintenance needs.
Additionally, the position assists with the annual capital equipment and space inventory process, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date in eBARS, managing key inventory, and supporting equipment tagging. The role also provides event setup and teardown support in the HKRB, which may require occasional work beyond standard business hours. Strong customer service, organization, and communication skills are essential to ensure responsive service and effective coordination with building occupants and external partners.
