An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Preferred QualificationsJob Description SummaryThe University of South Alabama’s Sponsored Projects Administration department is seeking to hire three Research Proposal Specialists. Interested candidates should apply to be considered. Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position.Essential Functions- Serves as a resource for faculty and researchers, focusing on the front-end of the grant lifestyle, to include preparation, assembly and data entry of the proposal packages.
- Provides customer service and handles the technical requirements, budget calculations, and communications with faculty and other university departments as necessary for a compliant and timely submission.
- Acts as primary administrative partner for investigators during the pre-award phase.
- Reviews Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to develop customized submission checklists and timelines.
- Manages the project workflow to ensure all internal SPA and external sponsor deadlines are met.
- Formats and edits biosketches (NIH, NSF, etc) to ensure compliance with the latest agency-specific standards.
- Compiles and formats disclosure documents for all Key Personnel, ensuring data consistency across the application.
- Assists with drafting and organizing non-technical components, such as Facilities/Equipment descriptions, Letters of Support, and Resource sharing plans.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
- Related duties as required.
