Job Summary
- The Registered Nurse (RN) in a Physician Practice setting delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and clinical teams. Responsibilities include assessment, treatment, monitoring, education, and preventative care for patients of all ages. This role requires critical thinking, clinical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient environment while ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients across the lifespan
- Performs routine procedures such as eye irrigation, wound care, and dressing applications
- Initiates emergency care and interventions in critical situations
- Provides health education and preventive care support
- Supports physicians with assessments, diagnostic procedures, and minor surgical procedures
- Develops and evaluates treatment plans for patients with long-term health conditions
- Communicates clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Participates in quality improvement and safety initiatives

- Populations Served: Care provided to all patient populations including: neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric

- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, biohazardous waste, and chemicals
- Ability to perform tasks in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
Licenses/Certifications
- Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the practicing state or compact RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Experience
- One (1) year of clinical nursing experience in a physician practice setting preferred
