Position Summary

The Quality RN will work with the ASC Director and have focus in the following areas:

Quality: identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based solutions to optimize patient outcomes and ensure compliance with standards. Organize the monthly QAPI meeting and ensure all items and benchmarking are completed and reported per the cadence calendar timelines. Write up studies per AAAHC requirements.

Risk/Compliance: work with the ASC Director to ensure healthcare providers and staff adhere to relevant federal, state and local laws, regulations, and ethical standards. This includes reviewing medical records, analyzing patient data, and investigating potential compliance issues/incidents.

Policies: Organize and run the monthly policy meeting. Create, update & format policies as needed maintaining a cadence that keeps all policies up to date.

Infection Control: monitor and assist with infection control tasks/audits as required.

Safety: Organize and run the monthly Safety meetings. Ensure all items are completed and documents are scanned and stored in appropriate folders according to the Safety cadence calendar..

Education: Work with the ASC Director to develop education & training as identified & needed.

This position is part-time, Monday through Friday, ~20 hours per week (no nights, no weekends, no call).

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the RN include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their surgical experience
  • Maintain a friendly, positive and caring attitude with all patients, physicians and staff
  • Assist in patient education during all phases of their experience at the Center
  • Assist in assuring that the proper supplies, instruments and equipment are available for the procedure
  • Assist in assuring that equipment is functioning properly
  • Monitor use of all supplies. Assist with inventory control by proper count of supplies/time used.
  • Document appropriately the care that is given to the patient
  • Continuing education to meet State requirements and keep current with health care changes.
  • Display professionalism at work and in the community as a representative of the Center
  • Take an active role on committees within the department
  • Identifies actual and potential risk to patients and others and takes action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety
  • Performs charge nurse responsibilities as staffing demands and as requested

Education/Experience

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current State licensure and CPR, ACLS and PALS accreditation
  • Two years of OR, Recovery Room, Intensive Care or Emergency Room experience is desired
