REPORTS TO: Vice President of Operations

JOB STATUS: Full Time

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

The Safety Director is responsible for leading and managing all company safety operations across construction sites, office environments, and support functions. This position establishes and drives the company’s overall safety strategy while promoting and maintaining a strong “Safe Thinking” culture throughout the organization.

The Safety Director directly oversees and supports Safety Managers, ensuring that safety programs are consistently applied and effectively executed at the project level. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, drives continuous improvement, and integrates safety into all aspects of company operations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company-wide Health & Safety Program.

· Develop and implement company-wide safety training programs and competency standards.

· Directly manage, mentor, and support Safety Managers responsible for job-site safety execution.

· Establish and enforce safety policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency across all company operations.

· Analyze safety data, trends, and metrics to drive continuous improvement and risk reduction.

· Ensure Safety Managers effectively conduct job-site inspections, training, and incident investigations.

· Oversee safety performance across all job sites nationwide, including regular audits and field evaluations.

· Ensure compliance with all Local, State, and Federal safety and health regulations.

· Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, audits, and inspections.

· Oversee incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed and implemented.

· Partner with executive leadership, project managers, and field teams to integrate safety into all phases of operations.

· Participate in preconstruction and operational meetings to ensure safety planning and alignment.

· Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and proactive hazard identification throughout the organization.

WORK SCHEDULE: Varied, full-time schedule with hours outside of regular “business hours” based on business needs.

Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret safety data and implement improvements.

· Self-driven motivator with strong initiative and problem-solving capabilities.

· Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and changing environments.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· 15+ years of Safety and Health Experience.

· Prior Construction Experience is required.

· BS in Occupational Health and Safety or closely related field or equivalent in years of experience.

· STS, CHST, CSP or similar certification(s) is preferred.

· OSHA 500/510 certification a plus.

· Forklift and MEWP (aerial lifts) instructor training is a plus.

· Bilingual is a plus.

· Proficient in MS Office.

· Ability to obtain airport security clearance.

· Legally authorized to work in the United States.
