Job Synopsis

MCC’s Serving and Learning Together (SALT) program is a year-long, cross-cultural experience that will give you the chance to grow in ways you never imagined.

Your time in SALT is not just a year abroad. It’s a chance to go deep into a new culture and relate to the world in a new way. It’s a chance to make mistakes, get messy and learn through trying. It’s an opportunity to grow in ways you have never even imagined. You’ll grow. You’ll experience the world. You’ll find purpose. You will Serve and Learn Together.

The next SALT cohort will run from August 12th, 2026, to July 17th, 2027. There is no program fee to participate in SALT and no amount required to fundraise! MCC covers all assignment-related costs including travel, provides a monthly stipend, and a resettlement allowance at the end of SALT.

Ready to see whether SALT is a good fit for you? Start by applying for the program! Once your application process is complete and you have been deemed eligible as a SALT program candidate, we will work closely with you to identify assignment options that strike a balance between the expressed needs of both you and a local partner organization.

The process of securing a specific assignment begins in January and finishes in late May, however, the earlier you complete the application process, the greater your chances of being offered one of your top placement preferences.
