Interested candidates should apply to be considered. Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position.Essential Functions
  • Provides secretarial, clerical and administrative support to the department Director.
  • Responsible for performing a variety of secretarial and administrative duties including the interpretation of routine rules, regulations and policies to University officials, students and the public.
  • Prepares correspondence, reports and other documents using a PC.
  • Composes responses to inquiries not requiring the Director’s personal attention.
  • Performs work with a considerable amount of independence and is reviewed upon completion for compliance to applicable rules, policies, regulations or instructions.
  • Participates in varying degrees in organizational and program matters utilizing extensive knowledge of the Director’s jurisdiction, policies and views.
  • Supervises and trains student assistants or other clerical positions in the immediate office to include assigning duties and tasks, as needed.
  • Answers department email as well as telephones and directs calls.
  • Greets and routes visitors.
  • Utilizes Banner finance and student record system and department StarRez software to access departmental and student information as needed.
  • Makes travel and hotel reservations.
  • Maintains departmental files and databases.
  • Processes student employment paperwork.
  • Assists in maintaining student files as requested.
  • Takes minutes at meetings and prepares for final distribution as requested.
  • Maintains supervisor’s calendar.
  • Complies with attendance and timekeeping policies.
  • Arranges and coordinates virtual meetings as needed.
  • Completes special reports and special assignments.
  • Prepares requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
  • Related duties as required.
