
Senior Analyst - SEO & AEO Strategy
Job Description
The Global Commercial Services (GCS) US Small Business Marketing team is at the forefront of digital innovation and delivers highly engaging experiences to prospective business customers. The team strives to attract and convert new business customers through digital touchpoints in order to drive significant revenue growth for American Express. Through the use of innovative paid media tactics and creative, strategic partnerships with leading digital platforms and agencies, and a best-in-class website, the team delivers more than 50% of net-new spend acquired from small business customers.
The americanexpress.com website is one of the leading revenue driving channels within Small Business Marketing. With the rapid changes to AI and customer search behavior, it is a pivotal time to define how the site strategy must evolve and adapt to this changing space.
Reporting into the Manager of SEO and AEO Strategy, the Senior Analyst - SEO & AEO Strategy, will be a core contributor to the Small Business Card Shop team within the Small Business Prospect Marketing and Demand Generation organization. This role will support the evolution of the site with the ultimate goals of delivering an influential and accessible user experience that meaningfully drives prospect acquisition. We are seeking a savvy digital marketer who embraces traditional search, is curious about AI search, and delivers business impact.
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end execution of Small Business Card Shop SEO enhancements through partnerships with Digital Product, Design, and Analytics. Help define the strategy and own communications necessary to deliver business outcomes.
Evangelize and incorporate SEO/AEO best practices across workstreams that influence copy, content hierarchy, design, and tech for our pages.
Activate SEO/AEO opportunities beyond our pages by collaborating with paid search, affiliate, and editorial teams.
Support the acclimation of the business to AI-powered search and chatbots. Specifically, modernize workstreams, processes, and strategy to consider and support AI visibility.
Utilize qualitative and quantitative data to share insights that inform better decision-making about site enhancements and test ideas.
Expand and iterate on how we monitor our performance in AI-powered experiences.
Support Site go-to market strategies for key product launches and refreshes.
Qualifications
Minimum 1-3 years of professional work experience.
Foundational understanding of how Google/search engines discover and assess website content.
Navigates undefined, complex, and ambiguous conditions.
Proven experience in managing shifting priorities and leading collaborative workstreams.
Proactive self-starter who thrives working independently and within a team.
Passion for outside-the-box thinking and challenging the status quo.
Confident storyteller with audiences of different seniority and expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of SEO experience in an agency or in-house capacity.
Working knowledge of how HTML, CSS, and JavaScript can impact SEO.
Experience with AI Tracking tools (i.e. Profound, BlueFish, Conductor)
Experience with Reddit Pro or other Reddit-based performance monitoring
Familiarity with how large language models work (Query fan-out, MCPs, RAG, etc.)
Bachelor’s Degree preferred

The below represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
Salary range
- $78,000 - $124,750 per year
