The Senior Benefits Analyst provides strategic oversight and expert administration of OmniOn Powers benefits and total rewards programs. This role exercises judgment in the development, interpretation, and implementation of US benefits and leave programs and acts as a trusted subject matter advisor to HR leadership, HR Business Partners, and employees. The role serves as the program owner for US employee benefits and leave of absence administration, advises on global benefits activities, and partners closely with HR Operations to drive compliance, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

Job Overview

The Senior Benefits Analyst provides strategic oversight and expert administration of OmniOn Powers benefits and total rewards programs. This role exercises judgment in the development, interpretation, and implementation of US benefits and leave programs and acts as a trusted subjectmatter advisor to HR leadership, HR Business Partners, and employees. The role serves as the program owner for US employee benefits and leave of absence administration, advises on global benefits activities, and partners closely with HR Operations to drive compliance, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

1. US Benefits Strategy, Administration & Compliance

Provides strategic oversight and expert-level administration of OmniOn Powers US benefit programs, including health & welfare, wellness, retirement, and tuition reimbursement, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and employee experience goals.

  • Interprets plan documents, policies, and complex regulatory requirements (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, IRS regulations) and determines compliant approaches for administering benefits programs.
  • Owns the design, governance, and ongoing effectiveness of the tuition reimbursement program, including eligibility determination, approval authority, exception handling, vendor oversight, and policy recommendations.
  • Oversees enrollment activities and resolves nonstandard eligibility and life event issues, partnering with Payroll and HRIS on implications impacting premiums, deductions, and reporting.
  • Analyzes and reviews monthly benefit reconciliations (payroll deductions, vendor invoices, eligibility files, and system audits) to identify discrepancies, trends, and control risks, and recommends corrective actions.
  • Serves as the escalation point for employee benefits issues, exercising discretion in resolution approaches and advising HR Business Partners and leaders on risk and precedent.
  • Manages and evaluates relationships with brokers, consultants, and vendors, assessing service performance, cost effectiveness, and compliance risk, and recommending vendor or plan changes as appropriate.
  • Determines content strategy and messaging for benefits materials on internal platforms, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clarity.
  • Leads the annual open enrollment process endtoend, including strategic planning, systems configuration decisions, testing oversight, communications strategy, execution governance, and postenrollment risk assessment.
  • Owns benefits compliance governance, including interpreting regulatory requirements, overseeing Form 5500 filings, SPDs, SARs, audits, and partnering with legal counsel to mitigate compliance and fiduciary risk.
  • Monitors legislative and regulatory changes and independently assesses organizational impact, recommending required actions and policy changes to leadership.
  • Identifies systemic improvement opportunities and designs and implements process, policy, and control enhancements to improve effectiveness, accuracy, and scalability.

2. US Leave of Absence (LOA) & Accommodation Programs

Provides expert oversight and advisory leadership for US leave and accommodation programs.

  • Interprets and applies federal, state, and local leave and accommodation laws (FMLA, ADA, state programs) to determine eligibility, coordination requirements, and risk exposure.
  • Advises employees, managers, and HR Business Partners on leave scenarios, interactions with disability and PTO programs, and potential employee relations or legal risks.
  • Oversees leave vendor performance and governance, ensuring procedural compliance while retaining internal decisionmaking authority for complex or sensitive cases.
  • Drafts, evaluates, and recommends leave policy changes, exercising judgment in balancing legal compliance, business needs, and employee experience.
  • Ensures compliant recordkeeping and documentation standards while maintaining confidentiality and data governance best practices.
  • Maintains advanced subjectmatter expertise and proactively identifies legal or operational risks related to leave administration.

3. Global Benefits Advisory Support

  • Provides subjectmatter expertise and advisory guidance for global benefits programs across multiple countries.
  • Evaluates global benefits practices and recommends changes to enhance competitiveness, cost effectiveness, and local compliance.
  • Serves as an escalation resource for HR partners and employees outside the US, applying judgment to determine appropriate solutions or escalation paths.

4. Benefits & Total Rewards Communications

  • Determines communications strategy and develops compliant, employeefocused benefits communications, plan documents, policies, and educational materials.
  • Provides advisory and backup support for other total rewards programs (compensation, performance, recognition) when specialized expertise or judgment is required.

5. HR Operations Projects & Advisory Support

  • Acts as a subjectmatter expert and strategic partner on HR Operations initiatives, including system enhancements, vendor transitions, audits, and compliance initiatives.
  • Partners crossfunctionally to assess risks, recommend solutions, and influence project outcomes impacting benefits, leave, and total rewards operations.
  • Provides expert analysis and recommendations to improve service delivery, data integrity, and employee experience.

6. Additional Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight and advisory coordination of employee relocation agreements by partnering with vendors and resolving nonstandard or escalated issues to ensure a smooth employee experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business, human resources or a related field. Minimum 7 years of experience administering and advising on US benefits programs; or, combination of experience and education

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated experience exercising judgment in benefits and leave administration
  • Advanced knowledge of benefits compliance, audits, regulatory interpretation, and plan governance for the US and globally
  • Demonstrated expertise in FMLA, ADA, and applicable state and local leave laws
  • Proven ability to influence, advise, and partner with leaders at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory and technical concepts into actionable guidance
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data trends and develop strategic recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and lead complex initiatives with minimal direction
  • Proven track record of handling sensitive information with professional judgment and discretion
  • HR certification preferred (CEBS, CBP, CCP, PHR, SPHR)
