Within PG&E, Development Operations plays a critical role in enabling fundraising success by ensuring strong systems, sound governance, and effective operational support. The team brings together expertise in fundraising operations, compliance, analytics, systems, and project management to support high-performing fundraising teams across regions and channels.The Position The Senior Business Intelligence Developer supports and expands PG&Es business intelligence solution(s), which includes a custom SQL Server-based data warehouse (on-premises) and a suite of reports in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Microsoft Power BI. They play a critical role in all phases of the solutions lifecycle, including requirements gathering, data analysis and modeling, data warehouse development, ETL design and maintenance, integrating data from disparate data sources, developing and deploying reports and dashboards. As our analytics needs evolve, we anticipate opportunities to streamline and modernize our environment. The Senior BI Developer will help assess improvement areas within our current architecture, optimize performance, and strengthen documentation to support future scalability and long-term data strategy.The role focuses on developing the insights, reports, and semantic models that enable analysis of fundraising performance, constituent behavior, and gift trends, with occasional use of exploratory and predictive techniques. This position engages regularly with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and validate results. Ultimately, the Senior BI Developer helps ensure the reporting and analysis needed to guide and support PG&Es fundraising strategy and decision-making. • Develop, test and document stored procedures, views, tables, indexes, constraints, functions and T-SQL scripts.
• Prepare clear and comprehensive technical documentation

• Work regularly with the Director of Fundraising Data & Analytics and team members to identify new reports and updates, to existing ones, clearly communicate requirements and changes, and design, test, and validate report outputs.

• Create scheduled andon-demandreports foraself-service environment, support legacy MDX whilefocusingnewdevelopmentonPowerBI tabular models and DAX.
• Expand, assess, andmaintainthe SQL Server data warehouse and SSIS-based ETL processes, including improving performance, streamlining legacy workflows, and strengthening documentation

Data quality and integrity

• Work closely with the Donor Database Manager, Online DatabaseDeveloper and Manager,and DevelopmentOperations Manager toidentifydata anomalies and broken business rulesand supportdata integrity and cleanupprocesses.

• Ensure that personally identifiable data and data analytics practices are aligned with Mercy Corps Responsible Data Policy.
• Cross-train in essential functions to ensure business continuity.
• Collaborate with the IT Department to ensure that marketing technical strategy aligns with the broader enterprise roadmap.
• Development and maintain OLAP cubes as needed.
• Other duties as requested or required.

• Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing, database management, reporting development, data cleansing, ETL and data analysis, preferably in a non-profit fundraising environment.
• Demonstrated success using T-SQL or MySQL to support data warehousing and reporting
• Projects, (ideally 5+ years).
• Demonstrated technical competency (ideally 3+ years) with Microsoft SQL Server 2016, including Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Reporting Services (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS) and Power BI.
• Demonstrated success (ideally 2+ years) developing customized reports in Microsoft SQL ServerReporting Services and Microsoft Power BI, including multi-dimensional reports with drill-down capability.
• Knowledge of The Raisers Edge ideal; non-profit experience preferred.
• 3+ years of experience with fundraising data or other comparably complex data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to communicate effectively with team members of varied work styles.
• Proven ability to handle confidential materials and sensitive information.
• Python experience is a plus.
