Responsibilities
- Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies, building relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer of related work groups.
- Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborates and leads with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies.
- Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations.
- Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the hand over processes to the ramp and sustaining phases.
- Leads junior engineers in investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings.
- Gathers and correlates basic data using engineering studies and procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems.
- Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.
- Seven or more years of experience in engineering within operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
- Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience evaluating emerging EV charging technologies, such as advanced DCFC systems, high-power charging solutions, modular storage integration, and bidirectional charging.
- Experience managing other engineers in a team environment to accomplish large scale EV Charging rollouts.
- Electrical, Civil, Software or other comparable engineering degrees.
- Experience participating in design reviews to ensure charger placement, equipment selection, and electrical infrastructure to support fleet operational requirements.
- Experience with configuring charger management system to enable efficient fleet operations and peak load shifting to allow flexible circuit interconnections..
- Experience in establishing and managing equipment standards, which includes EV chargers, Switchgear, microgrid control systems to enable business resiliency.
- Experience diagnosing why DC Chargers are offline and developing operational procedures to online.
- Experienced with business resiliency planning for fleet charging, including portable or temporary charging deployments (e.g., RESS units, skid-mounted chargers, mobile trailers).
- Understanding of DERMS and DER communications/protocols (2030.5, DNP3, Modbus,etc).
- Experience with developing control system logic using energy storage, solar and generators.
- Familiarity with ISO15118-2,20, IEEE 2030.5 CSIP, SCE Rule 21, UL3141 and inverter-based resource management.
- Experience supporting pilot projects, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept evaluations.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- Position will require up to 50% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
- This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40hrs/5 days a week.

Salary range
- $140,400 - $210,500 per year
