Position Summary
Epsilon Systems Solutions is seeking a full-time Senior Engineering Technician (Mechanical) III to support U.S. Navy surface ships in Sasebo, Japan. This position provides day-to-day onboard support and is responsible for performing assessments, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and training related to shipboard mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform pre-deployment assessments on shipboard mechanical systems
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain propulsion and auxiliary equipment onboard U.S. Navy surface ships
Train Ship’s Force personnel on operation, maintenance, and repair procedures
Support Navy 3-M and supply system administration
Supervise and direct technical personnel as needed
Ensure work is completed in compliance with all applicable technical, quality, and safety requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Twelve (12) years of experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems aboard U.S. Navy ships
Four (4) years of experience supervising or directing skilled technical personnel
Five (5) years of experience with Navy 3-M and supply systems
Five (5) years of experience with shipboard propulsion plants, auxiliary machinery, or nuclear propulsion systems maintenance and repair
High School Diploma or equivalent
Associate degree in a related field may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience
OSHA 10-hour certification required
Must be a U.S. Citizen due to government contractual requirements
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
ADA Requirements
Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs and ladders
Must possess own basic tools and required PPE, including hard hat, safety shoes, and safety glasses
Manual dexterity and visual acuity required
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in shipboard environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas
