The Sr Manager, HR will serve as a strategic business partner and people leader, responsible for driving HR initiatives that support growth and operational goals. This player-coach role will directly manage a small HR team while providing hands-on support as a trusted advisor to leaders, managers, and employees.
This is a highly visible role requiring mastery of HR tactical execution and a commitment to on-floor presence. The ideal candidate has a track record as a strong business partner, people developer, and problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, manufacturing-driven environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Business Partnering & Strategy
•Serves as primary HR business partner to local leadership team. Assists clients in the achievement of their business priorities in good keeping with Forgent values and policies.
•Provides coaching, guidance, and thought partnership to local leaders on talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness.
Talent & Culture
•Focuses on integration and promotion of a one-Forgent mindset.
•Partners with staffing agencies to drive manufacturing recruiting, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and keep top talent.
•Champions a culture of safety, inclusion, accountability, continuous improvement, underpinned by the Forgent values of Powered by People, You Belong, Own It, Think Boldly, and Winning Pace.
Employee Relations
•Impartially investigates complaints.
•Collaborates with people leaders to apply corrective action and progressive discipline fairly and consistently across groups.
•Partners with safety professionals in support of a healthy safety culture.
Compliance
•Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
•Provides guidance to managers and HR staff on policies, practices, and legal considerations.
Leadership & Team Management
•Leads, mentors, and develops the local HR team.
•Ensures team members are equipped with skills, tools, and coaching to grow in their roles and provide excellent service.
•Fosters a collaborative, service-oriented HR team that balances operational execution with strategic impact.
Programs & Processes
•Administers compensation guidelines, benefits, performance management, and training programs in partnership with HR centers of expertise.
•Partners with operations to ensure workforce planning, scheduling, and labor management practices support business needs.
•Implements and continuously improves HR processes and systems to drive efficiency and scalability.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or closely related field.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience
- Experience as an HR partner to a manufacturing client base.
- Prior experience supervising HR professionals.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance strategic initiatives with hands-on execution in a growing and dynamic environment.
