The Role
Data Management Operations (DMO), a division of GDS, specializes in managing, integrating and validating vendor and Fidelity-defined data associated with investment entities (securities, issues, brokers, funds, portfolios and index data). Our work is highly collaborative and involves close coordination and excellent communication with our clients, market data vendors and key business and technology partners across Fidelity.
The Senior Manager will manage the day-to-day operational activities including oversight/management of a team of operations associates monitoring daily workload distribution to ensure helpdesk and project assignments are equitable, challenging, and completed in an accurate and timely manner. The Senior Manager will work with business partners to resolve complex data inquiries while providing high level of customer service. By working across GDS, technology, customers, business and systems partners, the Senior Manager will plan and prioritize operational projects and manage team efforts end-to-end.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- College/University degree
- Demonstrated experience with coaching, developing and managing performance and output of team members including training, hiring and setting short an long term professional goals.
- Strong leader and mentor that builds productive and collaborate relationships with team members by providing and seeking feedback.
- Partner with portfolio managers, traders, risk, compliance, and technology teams to ensure data meets business needs.
- Knowledge in derivatives and alternative instruments a must
- Knowledge of Index construction and management preferred
- Experienced in managing projects and team of people in a changing environment
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, prioritize work for self and other and meet deadlines
- Hands on work style with “can do” attitude with strong desire to make things happen while identifying opportunities of process improvement.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg, OBIEE SQL and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with data platforms (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Markit) and master data management systems
- Highly motivated, flexible, quality focused team player with excellent organizational skills
- Regulatory Awareness: Understanding of global and local regulations impacting investment data.
- Experience with data mining and visualization, data analytics, data modeling and data manipulation experience

The Global Data Services (GDS) team within Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) is a global, investment data management organization that specializes in the sourcing, analysis, integration, management and distribution of security, index, portfolio, holdings and investment analytics data. GDS provides these data services for reference, evaluative, performance and analytical data in support of global investment decision making organizations.
