Position Summary

The Senior Manager Distribution Quality Operations provides oversight and support for quality compliance of BMS products at 3PL distribution centers (DCs) and during transportation between facilities. Ensures that BMS quality compliance expectations are met and maintains inspection readiness. Collaborates to develop quality strategies for storage, transportation, and distribution of products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary DQ USPR contact and provides quality oversight/support for the Manchester, PA USDC and BMS Puerto Rico’s 3PL DC.
  • Reviews and approves change control documents related to storage, transportation, and distribution of products.
  • Supports product launch preparation and activities. Conducts pre-approval assessments and other regulatory reviews required by GRS for dossier submissions.
  • Performs annual vendor quality risk assessments for 3PLs and logistics service providers to ensure compliance with cGMP, GDP, and BMS requirements. Participates in audits as required.
  • Serves as the quality subject matter expert for logistics incidents and quality events related to storage, transportation, and distribution of products.
  • Provides quality oversight and support for qualification of thermal protection systems in use at 3PLs.
  • Reviews and approves GMP-applicable system interfaces for inventory management and enterprise resource planning. Conducts system testing as required.
  • Coordinates investigation of product quality complaints with the manufacturing/sending site.
  • Develops and maintains quality agreements with vendors and internal customers.
  • Supports Serialization initiatives and troubleshooting.
  • Supports product recalls and withdrawals as directed by the Product Action Committee.
  • Provides training to vendors as necessary.
  • Handles quality disposition of returned BMS products at DCs.
  • Assumes Local Process Owner (LPO) responsibility for Distribution Quality when required.

Qualifications required:

  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering
  • Understanding of technical areas related to pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical analyses, microbiological analyses, statistical methods, regulatory and quality control/quality assurance processes.
  • Mastery of Quality processes and regulations, e.g., cGMP/GDP regulations.
  • A thorough understanding of company policies and regulatory requirements, and their relation to the management and documentation of product quality and complaint investigations.
  • Experience in ERP systems e.g., SAP
  • A minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in quality operations
  • Experience in vendor quality management software and systems e.g., Veeva Infinity
  • Direct experience in a Quality Assurance or Product Release role
  • Logistics experience desirable
  • Knowledge of effective styles of communication, change management, and leadership.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Ability to prioritize work and rapidly change priorities when necessary.
  • Ability to develop win/win solutions

The starting compensation for this job is a range from US-NJ- $121,520 -$147,200 plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).

The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.

Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
