Job Description Summary:

The role oversees applicable managing systems, vendors, and projects. Directs policy and technical operations, ensuring effective coordination and innovative solution implementation. Collaborates with stakeholders and teams to ensure swift issue resolution, and fiscal management, including budget oversight and cost strategy development. Fosters relationships with Plans, subsidiaries, and vendors, and provides insights to management. Knowledge of applicable strategy and operations is crucial to drive initiatives, maintain financial control, and support organizational objectives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Directs and coordinates activities for the systems, vendors, and strategic projects, overseeing policy and technical concept development, setting overall direction, providing business and operational guidance, ensuring effective coordination, and supporting all activities related to contingency management.
  • ​Provides clear communication with Plans, stakeholders, and internal teams, prompt resolution of Plan issues, end-to-end accountability for issue resolution, and communication of Plan intelligence summaries to senior staff and management
  • Accountable for internal Plan management budgets, manages administrative costs within approved budgets, and develops strategies to handle year-over-year changes in administrative costs
  • Collaborates closely with Plan and vendor staff on all aspects of business and implementation requirements while maintaining a strong knowledge of strategy, initiatives, and operations.
  • Responsible for managing and enhancing the Contingency Management program, ensuring its immediate activation during natural disasters, performance issues, strikes, etc. including overseeing vendor operations related to customer service and claims processing to ensure members remain unaffected in scenarios that might hinder claims processing or member services
  • Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing cohesive team of talented professionals including ongoing performance feedback and coaching, setting objectives and development plans, training etc. while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment aligned with BCBSA values .

The posting range for this position is:

$149,453.00-$204,225.37

Required Education, Certifications and Experience:


Education:

  • Required Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • 7+ Years business experience including three years of progressively responsible management experience Required

Additional Information:

  • Extensive knowledge of Health Care Industry and Health insurance systems and processes
  • Demonstrated experience with cost-benefit analysis and return on investment concepts
  • Understanding of Portfolio Management methodologies desired
  • Project management tools and software packages desired
  • Ability to motivate others to work together as part of a team
  • Excellent written communications skills, effective public speaking, the ability to negotiate solutions to problems independently
  • Minimum of seven years business experience including three years of progressively responsible management experience

A candidate’s position within the hiring range may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for annual bonusincentivepay.
