Role Overview
AutoNation is transforming AN USA into a next-generation, digitally enabled, centrally coordinated operating model.
The Senior Manager of Operations will serve as one of the core architects of this transformation. This leader will design, operationalize, and own the performance outcomes of new customer and operational workflows across AN USA — from digital retail and credit integration to BDC workflows and vehicle acquisition processes.
This role is not about maintaining existing processes. It is about building them from the ground up, refining them through real-world execution, and scaling them across AN USA and ultimately into the Franchise network.
You will be part of the core 'brain trust' defining how the future of auto retail operates at scale.
Core Mandate
• Architect new end-to-end operating processes
• Translate product concepts into executable store-level workflows
• Own rollout, adoption, and performance outcomes
• Refine processes until stated objectives are achieved
• Scale proven models into the broader Franchise network
Key Responsibilities
1. Process Architecture & Design
• Design zero-to-one operational workflows across sales, credit, BDC integration, WBYC, and vehicle allocation
• Provide critical input to Product and Technology teams on operational feasibility and execution design
• Represent the voice of the dealer in shaping customer journeys into real store operations
2. Outcome Ownership & Performance Optimization
• Own measurable performance outcomes including close rate improvement and productivity gains
• Monitor execution in pilot stores and refine processes until objectives are met
• Ensure workflows are scalable, cost-effective, and repeatable
3. Pilot Rollout & Field Implementation
• Lead in-market rollout of newly designed workflows
• Travel to BOS (Dallas) and AN USA stores for discovery, implementation, and oversight
• Partner with Head of Change Management and Dealer Performance Managers to co-develop rollout cadence and training playbooks
• Provide in-store support to ensure processes are embedded before scaling
4. Franchise Scalability
• Adapt proven AN USA processes for Franchise deployment
• Anticipate and manage increased complexity in franchise environments
5. Cross-Functional Leadership
• Work closely with Product, Technology, Central BDC, AN Finance, Pricing & Inventory, Legal, Compliance, and Corporate teams
• Maintain strong written documentation of workflows and process maps
• Communicate clearly across stakeholders to align execution
