As we continue evolving how we serve our Global 3PPP’s (Third Partner Payment Partners), we are committed to building smarter, more efficient, and more resilient operational and Due Diligence (DD) capabilities. Whether developing new digital tooling, streamlining Due Diligence experiences, or enhancing risk and compliance controls within the E2E DD process, you will help shape the next generation of operationalizing digital DD processes and oversight across the American Express 3PPP’s.
The Senior Manager role sits within Global Strategy Operations and Performance under Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS) and plays a key leadership role in designing and implementing the end-to-end strategy for the digitization of the Due Diligence program across 3PPP’s. This includes defining business requirements, developing and enhancing tooling, driving workflow automation, and partnering closely with Technology, Compliance, Operations, and Product teams to bring the future-state ecosystem to life.
This role is central to reimagining how we assess partner risk—embedding policy and control needs into intuitive digital workflows, enabling greater consistency and transparency, and leveraging emerging technologies like GenAI/ML to accelerate decision-making and improve operational performance. You will help build a simplified, scalable Due Diligence experience that supports our global growth while strengthening the governance and control environment that underpins the American Express Network.
Key Responsibilities
⦁ Develop and own the E2E transformation strategy for digitization of DD across 3PPP channels
⦁ Asses current-state pain points, fragmentation, and risk; partnering with Product to define a future state workflow.
⦁ Collaborate with stakeholders across DD Operations, Business Development, Product, and Compliance teams to identify requirements.
⦁ Enabling analytics-driven decision making to evolve the future state operational and product needs.
⦁ Brainstorming and negotiating effectively with various stakeholders to continuously define requirements and prioritization.
⦁ Lead the tooling strategy and enhancements, ensuring the right systems and platforms are in place to enable effective oversight and operational efficiency.
⦁ Represent the business in all stages of solution design – ensuring tooling and capabilities reflect policy requirements, operational realities and needs, and partner experience goals.
⦁ Influence product decisions by providing insights on regulatory requirements, operational impacts, and risk considerations.
⦁ Lead operational planning for rollout of new digital tools and processes, including change management, training, process documentation, and partner adoption.
⦁ Embed Compliance, RCSA, and operational risk requirements into tolling and workflows to strengthen partner oversight and end-to end governance.
⦁ Develop clear, structured business updates, recommendations, and reporting for Sr. Leaders across the GSOP and Business Development organizations.
Required Qualifications:
⦁ 5-7+ years of experience in Product Management, Operations, Compliance, or Risk within financial services or highly regulated industries.
⦁ Strong understanding of Due Diligence, KYC/AML, partner onboarding, or third-party risk management processes.
⦁ Hands-on experience driving digital transformation, tooling builds, or workflow automation.
⦁ Familiarity with GenAI/ML applications in operational or risk processes
⦁ Experience developing business requirements, workflows, and process maps.
⦁ Strong background in PRSA/RCSA frameworks and integrating controls into system/process design.
⦁ Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
⦁ Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation.
Preferred Qualifications:
⦁ Product development experience supporting technology teams or building complex internal tools.
⦁ Prior experience in Operations, Product Development, GNS or partner-facing environments.
⦁ Certification or formal training in GenAI/ML, Agile, or Product Management.
⦁ Experience driving or contributing to large-scale, enterprise-wide initiatives on the business or product side, with demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, influence diverse stakeholders, and deliver integrated end-to-end solutions.
Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually + bonus + benefits
